Some of you may recall that I was looking for help in May. And I’m thrilled to report that I not only found whom I was looking for, but I got two of them! On Saturday, June 9 I witnessed something special – an all-female 10K road race in Central Park. Oover 6,000 women celebrated the 40th anniversary of the NYRR New York Mini 10K by running their hearts out in this warm, humid morning. On May 12 I stopped by Central Park to see some friends in the star-studded 2012 UAE Healthy Kidney 10K. It was nice to see some elite runners up-close, including Olympians Meb Keflezhighi and Ryan Hal. I stayed for the whole race, as well as the post-race events, to snap some nice photos. Nike has some exciting news on running shoes around the corner. First there’s the new Flyknit technology that emphasizes its “featherweight, formfitting and virtually seamless upper”. With the Flyknit technology, this year Nike will debut its HTM Flyknit collection which includes the HTM Trainer+ and the HTM Racer. (more…)
