Giveaway: Wrightsock Anti-Blister Double Layer Socks

Have you ever been forced to stop running because of a painful blister on your foot? These distracting bubbles often come unannounced, ruin a perfect run, and leave you frustrated. To stay away from blisters, one of the easiest ways to prevent them from forming on you feet is to wear a pair of socks specifically designed for running or other athletic purposes. In this month’s giveaway, I am handing out 12 pairs of Wrightsock Anit-Blister socks to 6 lucky winners. Before we get started, let me give you a brief introduction.

What is Wrightsock?

As it turns out, it’s not the best idea to wear all-cotton socks to run, because cotton retains moisture the most, compared to other fabrics. What happens next is that wet cotton becomes abrasive as it begins to generate excessive friction with the outer layer of skin on your feet, to result in chafing and/or blistering. In short, runners should avoid wearing cotton in general, especially as a next-to-skin layer.

The ideal material to wear for activities is a made from synthetic polymers, or nylon – also known as tech fabric colloquially. Performance apparel made with tech fabrics are light-weight and, most importantly, moisture wicking. This signature characteristic from tech fabrics allows sweat and moisture to be pulled away from the skin via capillary action. The benefit of this is clear: dry skin makes you feet happy. And happy feet equate to a happy run!

Some of you already know this – I don’t give out products that I don’t use or trust. Wrightsock’s proprietary Double Layer Anti-Blister System works like a charm. In fact, I’ve been wearing its CoolMesh II and Running II socks for years, especially during all my races. Don’t forget to check out the detailed explanation of these socks on wrightsock.com.

Now let me cut to the chase and light up the giveaway.

I hate blisters!! I get them frequently because I was told I run funny. I turn my foot a weird way and the bottom outside of my foot rubs in my shoes. There are very painful and I have tried several different types of shoes but nothing seems to help.

  • Michaela R

I’ve recently been getting more and more blisters when I wear socks & closed shoes like boots or sneakers. I never thought it could be the sock, to be honest. I just thought maybe my shoes weren’t fitting me right anymore and chaffing/rubbing at the back of my foot.

Socks and shoes are among many possible contributing factors of developing blisters on the foot. Some people are even more prone to them due to pre-existing conditions such as diabetes.

  • Kristie

My experience with foot blisters is pretty much limited to breaking in shoes or spending long days in amusement parks, at any rate, blisters are to be avoided whenever possible!

  • http://spinningitall.com/ Kimbikes

I NEED these socks!  I ran a half-marathon on March 17th and developed a blister the size of a quarter under my big toe…I could feel it the last 6 miles of the race.  :(  I am sure I would have PR’d if it weren’t for that thing :)

  • agordon10
